TARGET
TARGET- Territorial strategy for water scarcity
Web: https://promicon.eu/
Description
TARGET seeks to establish a territorial planning strategy to promote access to water and sustainable water management in the SUDOE region. Freshwater resources in this region are under pressure due to increasing human demand, resulting in water shortages and quality problems. The project aims to address this shortage by developing action plans that integrate non-conventional water use solutions, such as the reuse of treated wastewater. Pilot actions will be carried out and solutions will be sought to improve water governance and address quality issues related to emerging contaminants. The project involves several beneficiaries and partners in different countries of the SUDOE region, who will share their experience and knowledge to establish a sustainable water management strategy in the territory. Objectives
The objectives of the TARGET Project are:
- Establish a territorial planning strategy to promote access to water and sustainable water management in the SUDOE region.
- Develop action plans that integrate non-conventional water use solutions, such as the reuse of treated wastewater, to address water scarcity.
- Carry out pilot actions to implement and test sustainable water management solutions.
- Improve water governance in the SUDOE region and address water quality issues related to emerging contaminants.
- Promote collaboration and knowledge exchange between the various partners and beneficiaries of the project.
Impact
The impact of TARGET is to address water scarcity and improve water management in the SUDOE region, through the implementation of non-conventional water use solutions and improving water quality. This will be achieved through pilot actions, development of action plans and improvement of water governance. The project also seeks to share knowledge and promote collaboration between project partners and beneficiaries. Furthermore, the project is expected to contribute to raising awareness of the importance of sustainable water management and the application of innovative solutions in the field of water reuse.
