Biography

Dr. Eva Gonzalez-Flo is a Biomedical Engineer with a Doctoral Degree in Biomedicine specified in synthetic biology and bioengineering. Her research is based on applying engineering principles in biological processes with the ambition of solving real-world problems in both the environmental and biomedicine fields. She obtained her BSc in Biomedical Engineering (2015) and MSc in Biomedical Research (2016) from the Universitat Pompeu Fabra. She was the recipient of a doctoral scholarship from the Generalitat de Catalunya (FI 2017-2020) and developed her doctoral thesis in the Synthetic Biology for Biomedical Applications laboratory at UPF-DCEXS.

Currently, she is a postdoctoral fellow in the Group of Environmental Engineering and Microbiology (GEMMA) of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC-BarcelonaTech) involved in the H2020 PROMICON Project. Her research seeks to improve the predictability and exploitation of the natural and synthetic microbial consortia for the biosynthesis of products of high industrial relevance by developing genetic and molecular analysis techniques.
